Amharic and Geez Made Easy, With New Software ዓማርኛና ግዕዝ በቀላሉ ለመክተብ፣ ግዕዝኤዲት 2.0

ABSHA was established in Denver, Colorado by Dr. Aberra Molla and his wife, Senait Ketema, in 1982. Ethiopian Computers & Software (ECS) was incorporated with the addition of the software business.

The company is a pioneer that computerized Geez and released ModEth, the first Ethiopic commercial software for Microsoft’s Disk Operating System (DOS) in 1987. EthioWord, an add-on to Microsoft Word, brought Ethiopic to Windows in 1993. That indirectly made Ethiopic available to the various Windows applications. GeezEdit, a memory-resident application, followed the next year.

ECS currently sells GeezEdit 2.0 for Windows online at http://www.geezedit.com and GeezEdit app for Apple’s iOS 8 (iPhone, iPad) at https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/geezedit/id935624754?mt=8. GeezEdit 2.0 is for use in Widows XP to 10 including Windows Surface. Since 2011 there is a website to type Amharic in Windows and Mac computers. ECS products are protected by the first Ethiopic USA patent and pending patents.
